Erratic food habits, sedentary online lifestyles, growing environmental pollutants and toxin-heavy personal care products put serious strain on the liver. An overworked liver cannot process accumulating toxins, reducing its efficiency. This makes a regular liver cleanse and detox important.

Hello ma’am the above article is written for patients who are having comprised liver and kidney issue. Here we have used the word ‘detox’ in reference to ‘liver cleanse’ or healing of liver cells in diseases like NAFLD , typhoid , t.b etc. It’s not just meant wholely n solely for weight loss. The herbs mentioned are very much helpful with research data and been used since centuries. We are not promoting them for weight loss instead we are promoting them for supporting liver and kidney issues. As a dietician I have a responsibility to promote plant based natural herbs instead of heavy chemicals based medications which are mostly been given for kidney and liver issues. We have got many authentic researches regarding teas and it’s effect on overall health . We will be happy to share .

This article is rife with misinformation and I do not understand how a dietitian can spread such false information. A liver’s function is to remove toxins from your body. Not a single scientific study shows that detox teas can trigger weight loss or support metabolism or help the liver do its job better. The only weight these teas can help shed is water weight, and this can lead to serious health concerns. The study that you have linked at the end of the article is an in vitro study, and its results can therefore not be taken an conclusive for human subjects. Plus, the results of the study are also not clear.
Spreading this false information and seeking detox teas simply makes people feel bad about their bodies. Eating disorders are the most fatal of all mental illnesses. Please show some responsibility as a medical professional.
